- ➤ Bremerton police arrested a convicted felon on Friday who impersonated an Edmonds detective by arriving in police gear and an activated Ford Explorer at an active scene—officers later learned he was a security guard armed with a firearm and booked him on charges of criminal impersonation and unlawful possession. - ➤ Arlington police arrested a 31-year-old Marysville man on suspicion of DUI, reckless endangerment— and knife brandishing— outside Eagle Creek Elementary School around 5:50 p.m. Thursday as witnesses reported erratic driving near a school event. Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Everett approved its first project labor agreement with union groups on Wednesday for the Port Gardner Storage Facility— a project designed to store excess rainwater during storms and reduce sewer overflows. The agreement sets a goal for apprentices to complete 15 percent of the work and gives local hires from Snohomish County priority, and the city will use a similar agreement for the Reservoir 3 Replacement Project set to start in 2026. - ➤ The Energize program will install heat pumps and make upgrades in King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties, with some applications opening in November and others early next year. Eligible property types include single-family homes, adult family homes, family child care centers, multifamily homes and community spaces. City of Everett
- ➤ Sound Transit's board is studying ways to lower rising costs for its light rail expansion and board members proposed nixing a planned second tunnel so all lines run through the existing one—saving billions for future projects.
