  • ➤ Yesterday, a Snohomish County Superior Court Judge ruled that District 4 City Council candidate Niko Battle is ineligible because of residency issues, so despite leading the primary he will not appear on the November ballot—runner-up Luis Burbano will replace him and face Alan Rubio. Battle said he will appeal the ruling as ballots are printed today and the general election is set for Nov. 4.  Everett Post

  • ➤ The Everett Seagulls beat Jackson 28—20 on Sept. 5 in the season opener at home, scoring 21 points by halftime. The Seagulls will host Monroe on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. while Jackson faces Lake Washington on Sept. 12 in a non-conference game.  Snohomish County Tribune
