Unionized journalists at The Daily Herald ratified their first contract with the company after two years of negotiations which provides guaranteed raises and protections for staff.

Seattle Children’s Hospital will lay off 154 employees this fall — including some at its North Clinic in Everett — due to anticipated state and federal cuts.
