- ➤ Lynnwood City Council candidate Bryce Owings, who led the August primary by 87 votes, has been convicted of 10 crimes over the past 20 years—including domestic violence and drug offenses—and he will face incumbent Josh Binda in the November election while saying he is reformed after years of counseling and sobriety. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Captain Stacy Wuthier, commanding officer of Naval Station Everett, will deliver the keynote at the 2025 State of the Station event on Oct. 22nd, scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Port of Everett, where she will update the public on ongoing projects, the station’s role in national defense, and its economic impact—$340 million annually—while connecting community leaders and local business owners. - ➤ Snohomish County is holding two open houses on Oct. 9 and Oct. 11 to discuss the plans for the Food + Farming Center at McCollum Park, which will support local farmers with processing and distribution space. The session at Northwest Stream Center runs from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the session at Willis Tucker Park runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and both will include a County staff presentation. Everett Post

- ➤ A women’s health and wellness run will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ebey Waterfront Park in Marysville and will feature a 5K race, vendors, speakers and activities to boost healing—supporting local women and students.
