Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 4th of October.
Good morning, Everett.
🏘️ Community
Everett’s downtown stadium district project will convert an underused industrial site into a city-owned, year-round civic space that fosters sports, concerts, and community events—offering nonprofits, youth leagues, and local businesses greater event control.
The County’s $5 million pledge and private investments support the transformation.
🏛️ Government
Community Transit signed a contract with its drivers union late Thursday that gives a 5% raise for 2025 and a 4% raise for 2026 and 2027 while setting the contract to expire then.
The deal follows over a year of talks and improves pay for drivers and maintenance workers.
