- ➤ Everett residents can benefit from new flood preparedness resources provided by Snohomish County as heavy rains cause rising rivers and clogged storm drains—resources include a safety guide, risk maps, and real-time alerts to help protect homes and families. The county’s list assists both farm and townhouse residents in preparing for, coping with, and recovering from seasonal flooding. Everett Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Snohomish County will raise dump fees in January 2026— a standard household dump run will cost $30 up from $20 for loads up to 360 pounds. Tipping fees for waste haulers will also rise and penalties for unsecured loads will jump from $10 to $25—recycling will remain free to help keep operations running smoothly. Snohomish County Tribune
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials reported that a Snohomish woman in her 60s with underlying conditions died on Saturday after testing positive for influenza A, marking the county's first flu death this season with nine related hospitalizations. They urged residents to get their annual flu shot before Thanksgiving to allow enough time for immunity. Everett Herald
- ➤ Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin was recognized in a national ideas contest organized by the NewDEAL Forum for her city’s Emergency Mobile Opioid Team (EMOTE) program—which delivers vital care to residents who do not use traditional clinics. The program received key funding in 2024 and the council extended its support until 2027. Everett Post

- ➤ At the 3A District 1 swim and dive championships held Nov. 8 at the Snohomish Aquatic Center, Monroe seniors Madelyn Clark and Brynn Magelsen competed in the girls diving event; Magelsen won with 232.95 points and Edmonds-Woodway claimed the overall title with 362 points — Snohomish finished fifth at 152 points.
