- ➤ Everett Transit and Volunteers of America Western Washington launched the annual Stuff a Bus drive to collect food, toys, clothing and electronics for families in need throughout Snohomish County. Donations will be accepted outside Fred Meyer at Murphy’s Corner from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov 29-30, Dec 6-7 and Dec 13-14. Everett Post
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mukilteo School Board members voted Tuesday to send a $400M bond and levy measure to the February 11 ballot to fund school projects including replacing Explorer Middle School; if both measures pass, taxes will rise by about 38 cents per $1,000 of assessed value—adding roughly $260 to the annual property tax for the average homeowner. - ➤ Monroe’s Adopt-a-Drain program lets volunteers check storm drains for debris to keep runoff from polluting local waterways — it operates in fall and winter to help prevent street flooding. - ➤ BP and the Department of Ecology worked Wednesday to contain a rupture on the Olympic Pipeline that leaked jet fuel near Lowell-Snohomish River Road by a blueberry farm last week; they shut down the 20-inch pipe for inspection while the 16-inch pipe resumed service and cleanup continues (with no flight impacts at Sea-Tac).
