  • Tommy's Express will open its first Washington location tomorrow at 8101 Evergreen Way near Cascade High in Everett; owners Clayton Wall and Phuong Truong — who held a groundbreaking in March — are offering free car washes during business hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. throughout November.  My Everett News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Everett-based Zap Energy and Helion are racing to build a nuclear fusion reactor that could help slow rising electric bills — investors have poured significant funds into the project as the companies work on advanced fusion techniques. Experts say lower energy costs may not reach consumers for decades, even though major tech firms are set to be the early adopters.  KUOW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The playground at Wiggums Hollow Park in north Everett was destroyed in an intentional October fire and city officials have proposed a $500K funding ordinance to demolish and replace the damaged structure—if approved on Dec. 10, construction will begin early 2026 and finish before summer. The Everett Police Department is investigating the fire—no updates were reported.  Everett Herald
