- ➤ For over a year, commuters in Everett and Mukilteo have taken a 10-mile detour after the Edgewater Bridge closed for a $34 million replacement project that now stretches into 2026—daily commutes and local business sales have been hit hard. Everett Herald
- ➤ The Hazel Miller Foundation is asking for community donations to help the Jean Kim Foundation bridge a $500,000 gap by yearend to keep its Lynnwood hygiene center open, which has provided 53,000 free showers since 2020. An anonymous donor has contributed $2 million and the property owner plans to sell the space—if the gap is not met by December 12, the center may close. Everett Herald

- ➤ A UW student who grew up in Mukilteo, Shubham Bansal, was announced Friday as a Rhodes Scholarship recipient—the first from UW since 2012. He will pursue master’s degrees at Oxford in public policy and health service improvement while planning to train as a physician in addiction medicine. Everett Herald

- ➤ On Thursday, Snohomish County transit agencies were awarded $24 million to upgrade their buses to hybrid models. Everett Transit received $10.1 million for nine buses — Community Transit got $14 million for 12 buses, as announced by Rep. Rick Larsen to help cut carbon emissions and maintenance costs.
