Evergreen Arboretum canceled its Wintertide Lights display this season — volunteer burnout and rising costs prompted the change — so visitors can enjoy Deck the Boughs crafts and a Sunrise Solstice Walk on Dec.
21 at American Legion Memorial Park. Gardens remain free and open from 6 a.m. to dusk.

Adopt A Stream Foundation launches Holiday Trees for Salmon on Saturday, selling pines and cedars to raise funds for environmental education and stream restoration.
The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends through Dec. 23 at the Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park (600 128th Street SE).
