BUSINESS NEWS

  • Rustic Cork Wine Bar opened Tuesday at the Port, offering 30 to 40 Washington wines and both indoor and outdoor seating on the waterfront. It is the first of five new eateries that boost the dining scene.  Everett Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • Everett will honor its trailblazing women with five new interpretive signs installed through the Everett Forward grant, with a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 12 p.m. at the Municipal Building (south side) that highlights stories of local figures like restaurant pioneer Dorothy Chin.  Everett Post

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Judy Schwab, the longest-serving Mukilteo School Board member, will hold her final board meeting Tuesday after a 28-year tenure. Schwab remains active in local school events + will hand her role over to Karl Hausmann in 2026.  Everett Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • NOAA ended funding for nine tsunami alert stations and temporary University of Alaska funds will keep them operating through January — state officials warn that later data gaps may delay tsunami warnings along the West Coast.  KUOW
  • Snohomish County Public Works reminds residents to prepare for snow and ice by checking road conditions, moving vehicles parked along major streets, and allowing extra travel time; officials urge following safety guidelines during winter weather events.  Everett Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Everett Silvertips earned a narrow 2-1 win over the Spokane Chiefs on Dec. 3 at Angel of the Winds Arena as Zack Shantz and Brek Liske helped secure the victory, and they return home today to host the Vancouver Giants for a Teddy Bear Toss — doors open at 4:45 p.m.  Everett Post
