The Daily Everett team
If you ride the bus in Everett, a big change is coming. The Everett City Council and the Community Transit board voted unanimously this week to fold Everett Transit, the city's own agency since 1969, into Community Transit. The city will stop running transit on April 1, 2027.
That same day, the transit sales tax in Everett rises from 0.6% to 1.2%. In return, a Community Transit news release promises 50% more bus service in Everett by 2031, with more frequent buses and earlier and later trips.
